About
Kacey Ezell
Kacey Ezell was born in South Dakota in 1977. Her parents joined the US Air Force in 1984, and she grew up around the world on various military bases. When she was seven, her mother gave her a copy of Anne McCaffrey’s Dragondrums, and shortly thereafter, Kacey decided that she wanted to be a dragonrider when she grew up. In 1999, she followed her parents into the “family business” and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy before going to pilot training. As dragons were in short supply at the time, she reasoned that flying aircraft was the next best thing. She earned her wings in 2001, and has over 3000 hours in the UH-1N, Mi-17, and EC-130 helicopters. From the time she was a small child, Kacey made up stories to tell to her friends and family.
Kacey writes science fiction, alternate history, fantasy, horror, noir, romance… etc. fiction. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and her cat, Atlas.Fancy, right? 🙂 Other than that, here are ten things you may or may not know about me:
– I adore dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is for children. White chocolate is an abomination.
– I subsist on a steady stream of Sugar Free Red Bull. It doth, indeed, gift me with wings.
– I’m married to the coolest guy I’ll ever meet. He told me so himself. 🙂
– I used to hate running. Then I slowed down. Now, I actually kind of enjoy it.
– My taste in music is completely eclectic, and I’m always looking for new stuff to check out.
– I collect steel-boned corsets. Because, why wouldn’t I?
– I’m an accent mimic. Hang out with me long enough, and I’ll start stealing your accent. I blame being a military brat.
– My favorite color is blue, but not just any blue. The blue of the sky at about 8 pm in the summer when the sun has set but the light is hanging around.
– I self-identify as Chaotic Good.
– My superpower is talking my friends into doing things that are scary, but good for them.
