I’m an extrovert. My mother says I collect friends like a spider collects flies. That seems kind of stalkerish and creepy, but she’s not entirely wrong. I love meeting people and making connections, so I figured I’d post some of those connections here, so you can get tangled up in my web of friendships as well. 🙂
Publishers:
Baen Books has been bringing readers pulse-pounding, thought-provoking adventures straight from the heart of science fiction and fantasy for decades. They publish books in hardcover, paperback, and electronic form, and are one of the few traditional publishers that maintains its own ebooks webstore (with at least four new titles added every month). They are also perhaps the only book publisher to make our electronic advanced readers copies (eARCs) available for sale to devoted fans before a book’s official release date. In addition, they also sell ebooks from other publishers. They sell more than 2000 books from over 500 authors published by 24 different companies. (credit Baen.com FAQ)
Chris Kennedy Publishing is an independent small press with a powerhouse lineup and a rabid fan following that focuses on fun, message-free fiction. CKP, as it is known among friends, is home to seven (!) active imprints, including Theogony Press (sci-fi and alt history), Seventh Seal Press (4HU shared world), Beyond Terra Press (Murphy’s Lawless shared world), and Wyld Stallions Press (romance) as well as imprints for horror, fantasy, and YA fiction.
Literary Representation:
Griffin Barber and I are represented by Justin Bell of Spectrum Literary Agency for our collaboration Second Chance Angel.
Podcasts:
I love doing podcasts. Aside from Con attendance, it’s probably my favorite form of publicity, but I’m very new to it. SF Shenanigans and Keystroke Medium are two of my favorites, along with Drew Avera’s sound byte-sized Author Mechanics.
Novel Collaborators:
As I said, I collect friends. Often, those friends are wildly talented creative people, and sometimes I talk them into working with me on stuff. That’s when things get really fun. 🙂 If you’re looking for someone new to read, may I recommend any of the following individuals?
Mark Wandrey is a three-time Dragon Award Finalist and the creator of the insanely popular, bestselling Four Horseman Universe. Mark and I wrote Weaver together, with more Tortantula tales on the horizon.
Marisa Wolf is the genius with whom I wrote Assassin and Hunter, which are both spin-off tales within the Four Horseman Universe that tell the story of a race of very scary, very cuddly felinoid alien hunters.
Chris Smith is a slacker who doesn’t yet have a website, but he and I have collaborated with John Ringo on a post-apocalyptic steampunk adventure romp for Baen Books. It is available now!
Nico Murray is a wizard with both words and metal. We worked together on Over The Night Horizon, which was sort of a romance, sort of a jewel heist, sort of a vampire tale set in sort of the Renaissance.
Griffin Barber is one of the coolest guys I know. He and I wrote a really cool SF Noir novel called Second Chance Angel, which is available now from Blackstone Publishing.
Charles E. Gannon is a bona fide master of hard science fiction. He’s also one of the most genuinely kind and ridiculously intelligent people you’ll ever meet. He’s the creator of the multiple Nebula-award nominated Terran Republic series, of which the Murphy’s Lawless series is a spin off.
Anthology Collaborators:
Larry Correia is a two-time Dragon Award winner and the author of the bestselling Monster Hunter International, Grimnoir, and Saga of the Forgotten Warrior series (serieses?), all published by Baen Books. Larry and I have collaborated on an anthology titled Noir Fatale, also for Baen. It is available now!
Marisa Wolf in addition to Assassin and Hunter, Marisa and I collaborated to bring you Negotiation, a collection of Hunter Tales (mostly) set in the 4HU. It’s available now!
